By Stream…the beauty unfolds

By stream and brook
I wander the wild flower beds,
green carpet dotted whites and blues and reds,
and shadows from tall elms mock,
break the vibrant light, while
flickered shards escape through
thunderous rustling leaves.
Birds dart and play
with trill notes of joyous life,
among the bows of elm so high,
a sky-less green of leaves and wind awry,
and I watch their blurred bodies turn and glide,
their freedom the ecstasy
of life, without concern.
And my steps on hallowed ground
must boom for those of insect life,
adjourned to enact their daily routines,
foraging, serving their kind in spite
of the likes of me;
and I see their fervent will and determined moves,
harmonious lives in search of food.
The brook babbles an unknown language
only nature can understand,
and its flow like life’s infinite ploy,
moving, changing, evolving joy,
as I just stand remote,
within its miraculous tender embrace,
and my heart swells, with hope.

Oh, the glorious beauty of Nature the Mother gifts to us – filling us with joy and hope. Inspirational beauty from your pen doth flow, Tony.
There is something about the beauty of nature that I cannot ignore with poetry. There never seems to be enough said. So pleased you enjoyed it Phyllis.
