Oh Mystic Tell Me True

Oh Mystic Tell Me True
Oh Mystic Tell Me True

Mystic, tell me my road,
for it does test my patience,
and aberrations keep taunting mind,
elusive freedom in escaping
this kind of opposition,
so weary I of the imposition,
like shadows stalking flesh,
truths as specters etch away their mark
upon my thoughts,
and echoes as cohorts
do build a firm regret,
that lets me sleep not
for all I’ve done,
all my dreams not met.

Lover tell me plain,
is this my dream of peace
of just lies in refrain,
that smile tells me
underlying doubts,
for God’s sake let them out,
or I will vanish clear from sight,
my heart turned to dust,
my soul in perilous plight,
as I am just a man,
and I do what I can
to hold this love in keep,
nurture you and in freedom
rise above yourself.

Heart be honest with me now,
dismiss my dreams
and clean what life I have,
so I can know the truth,
not delude myself by ruse,
or any other game, instead
my heart and soul be clear,
not just appear in ambivalence,
but invested in my worth,
being who I am despite
my expectations,
my dedication to the cause,
connecting to my soul of many lives
where I can abide by what I am.
