To Love Thyself…an Epiphany

Transparency is a courageous state of being,
for we reveal our darkness and light,
our doubts and dreams for all to see,
and facing the self is never easy,
when we see ourselves naked,
not clothed by our fears or wants,
but how we are redeemed by reality.

Who judges us is immaterial,
for we are the harshest judges,
and accepting who we are in truth,
with all our foibles and flaws,
is an act of humility,
understanding our work in progress,
our potential unrealized.

To be dictated by fear is to stagnate,
and being clothed in our delusions
has no real worth,
when truth always finds light, eventually;
and should we dismiss it,
we live a fantasy life,
tethered to our manufactured deception.

Without loving the self,
recognizing our potential to love,
we create a shell of resistance,
to the world, to ourselves
and ultimately limit our wants and dreams,
by remaining unconnected to life,
for love brings us all together, without measure.

Freedom is the acceptance of self and potential,
to then be purposeful in life,
aspiring to our goals and in sharing,
accept our commonality,
as well as our individuality,
so that connections are a learning,
and the ascension of our consciousness.
