Your Presence
Your Presence
There is not a single soul on Earth
With whom to share these thoughts and fears
Confined within my mind, worse things seem to birth
It’s times like this I wish that you were here
With a palpable presence that is undeniable
And a sense of peace and comfort that is indefinable
Right now, it is all I can do just to fight these tears
Threatening to pour fourth with unwelcome relief
Unless you with your unconditional love are near
To reinforce that in myself I can still have belief
I would give almost anything to feel your hug
An embrace that says I’m safe no matter what

This is such an endearing poem, Shannon. The presence of unconditional love is so comforting. Beautiful verse.
Thanks so much.
Nicely penned Shannon, and that is our greatest wish, to be loved for who we are, unconditionally. Great verse.
I suppose so, but it’s a rare thing here on Earth. Thanks.
