World You Make Me Smile

World you make me smile,

as I look all around,

a baby’s chubby face,

a friendly glance.

watching playful pups and kittens,

colorful butterflies flitting in the air,

hearing birds sing in the trees.

when skies are blue

and the sun shines so warm –

when children laugh and play.

looking upon a shiny glittering sea,

warm golden sand beneath my feet –

while seagulls cry from above.

as clouds like sailing ships go by,

trees waving leaves in the breeze,

nature all around.

at any time in any season,

summer when in full bloom,

spring as nature awakes.

Fall when leaves turn to lovely colors,

winter when the first snowflakes begin to fall.

When the winds blow about

and the air is fresh and clean.

there’s such a lot to see,

the tops of mountains way up high

and flowering meadow carpets below.

all across the wide globe,

countries to explore,

people to greet.

when I get a note from a dear friend,

when someone says thanks

and I can lend a helping hand.

despite the anger, violence and wars.

If only everyone would stop to think

and let love flow into their hearts.

Then perhaps we could all say,

world you make me smile

and help one another –

to a brighter new day.

make everyone smile with you,

make each day a whole lot better

and a shining new future to see,

then we could all shout out loud –

world you make me smile.
