The Poet’s Giving, Words in Time

Dismal words are just feelings,
as we traverse the thoughts
that cause us pain,
and seek in flight the poet’s plight,
to wear our hearts upon a sleeve.
‘Tis not a fitting end but release,
new beginnings in cessation’s reach,
when a poets words espouse a truth
or acknowledge the seeds we’ve sewn,
to free the mind from itself.
Words may stir the soul,
render passage to distant fates,
yet the lessons they teach are poignant
to the whole, this journey
we glean in hope of peace.
The burden of a poet is also a blessing,
words driven to manifest in celestial glory,
for the deeds and foibles of men
are just the movement of change,
and the ascension of mind to rearrange
the measure of life.
Care not for the poet’s wavering intentions,
for they are fleeting epiphanies scribed,
as life and intervention
guide creativity sublime,
to the poets pristine canvas.
Words may sink and words may swim,
and words may find flight in freedom,
but every one with heartfelt promise,
with love and selfless giving,
arranges the poets heart upon a page.
The poets words are just feelings
woven intricately into minds,
and for those who discover the truth there,
a gift beyond sublime,
pure in the giving.

You are so right, Tony – the poet gives of his heart words that touch all emotions and other hearts. Very nicely rendered of the giving poets.
Glad you appreciated it Phyllis, and thank you for commenting, few do. Take care.
Tony , you could not have said this any better , No one could have ! It is after all a sharing isn’t it , I for one haven’t been very good about that . We all need to hear this occasionally and You ARE an amazing and energetic poet !
Thanks for this !.
Much appreciated Ed, pleased you related and enjoyed the thoughts my friend. Cheers!
Wonderful poetic thoughts on poets. Poets look beyond and find the emotions that lie beneath all the reality and speak of wondrous things that come straight from the heart.
Glad you appreciated the words Rasma, Take care my friend.
