Poet’s Dream Catcher – Weave a Dream With Words

Poet’s Dream Catcher – Weave a Dream With Words

The poet’s dream catcher hung on the wall
Of his mind, always there reminding him
He has the beauty of words in the hall
Of his heart and soul,
Just waiting for the right time to soar,
Thus to alight in the hearts of those
Who need uplifting of their spirit,
Giving them hopes and wings to fly.

For all time your words will inspire,
Raise someone up, light the fire
Of one who so needs the right words
To spark the embers of their heart,
Give them courage to go forth
Pick up their quill,
Call upon their muse,
And inspire yet another young poet.
~

Beloved poet’s of the past gave us words that linger in the hearts and souls of so
many. Let your poet’s dream catcher also send out inspiration to all who aspire
to be a poet.

Adieu, dear, amiable youth!
Your heart can ne’er be wanting!
May prudence, fortitude, and truth,
Erect your brow undaunting!
In ploughman phrase, “God send you speed,”
Still daily to grow wiser;
And may ye better reck the rede,
Then ever did th’ adviser!
– Robert Burns in Epistle To A Young Friend

~

In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For
in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.
– Kahlil Gibran in The Prophet

~

Weave a dream with words that capture their hearts. When all the right words in
your poet’s dream catcher begin to form and sparkle, release them and, like stars,
they will brighten the Universe for all time.

I am an author on TCE and write mainly in poetry and short stories. I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.

Beautiful Phyllis. I liked the Gibran quote. It is a wonderful thing when we are able to summon the muse and embrace the majesty of imagination and dreams onto paper, to inspire, to heal, to enlighten. Not all will be stars but just a glimmer in someone’s eye is all worth while.

Lovely Phyllis, and so we as poets seek beauty to transcend words and touch hearts profoundly. Some great quotes too to inspire the heart. Take care.

As poets we embrace our Muses whim, like twinkling stars on a calm night’s viewing, we scatter our verses nearer to them. If we can but touch another’s heart and heal it for a second in time, or bring a tear so needed to be released, then our words are not penned in vain. The spoken word gets often lost in translation, but the inked ones, last for all ages and a dream catcher retains them forevermore. Thank you Phyllis for such a moving peace, I felt every word.

So splendid, Phyllis! Yes, to move hearts with our words; you certainly do just that. All of your poetry, and writing is very moving, and touches me greatly.

It seems that words, though, sometimes cannot justify the true appreciation I have for all of these glorious poems and pieces that you share. I don’t like it when my words fail to describe what I am actually feeling, or trying to say.

Thank you very much, Tamara, for your kind words.

Your comments are always very nice and well received, so don’t worry about it. I sometimes am so emotionally touched by a poem or story that I cannot express the deep feelings within, so I often just choose the best word I can think of at the time and write only one or two sentences. Just be with the moment, Tamara, be you, and be at peace.
