Australia, the Land That I Love
Australia,
the most beautiful, deadly,
diverse and unique country on earth,
bids all to visit our sunburned country,
where space is a commodity we can afford,
where food is fresh and inspired
by every culture in the world,
where multiculturalism is our foundation,
and being an Aussie is all that counts,
given it ‘a go’, being ‘fare dinkum’
and sharing this rich brown land
that is awesome.
Each an every creature here is uniquely Australian,
found nowhere else,
and our original native inhabitants
one of the oldest cultures on earth,
echoing the thoughts and legends of
the land and the creatures of its creation,
the ‘dream time’ and our connection
to the natural world,
living in harmony and with hope
for a more compassionate and peaceful world,
one where Aussies speak their mind,
and ‘take the piss’ out of everything we can, just because.
This is our way, our sense of humor,
our unique laid back perspective on life,
driven by a will to be together as ‘mates’,
standing up for our rights
and the rights of those downtrodden,
in brotherhood we choose to be,
over a beer and a laugh,
more than a few expletives and a pat on the back
for those who raise the bar,
because we’re Aussies,
and there’s no-one like us,
love us or hate us, we’re here to stay.

I love it! and it is wonderful to hear your voice in the Aussie manner of speech. Your verse is great, Tony. All my life a fascination with Australia has filled me with wonder and the desire to be there. This is a “feel good, uplifting” piece of work. Well done indeed ! Fair dinkum!

Not my real voice of course, I’m far more cultured than that. lol But Australia is unique and although we have many dangerous creatures here, rarely do you come across them, and if you do we all know how to respond. Glad you enjoyed my tribute and tourism ad. Take care.
