A Tincture For Life

A Tincture For Life
A Tincture For Life

Tincture…my recipe

A tincture for compassion,
void of the impurities of doubt,
a remedy for dark selfish lives,
to coax the true soul out;
the knowing of eons,
the wisdom of gods,
investment of learning
from multiple lives thereof,
driven by compassionate eyes.

A tincture for loving,
not exemplified by flesh,
but the true deliverance of a soul,
through kindness and respect;
the selfless sacrifice of attention,
the suppression of will,
to honor another life,
more than oneself, understood,
in the expression of a pure heart.

A tincture for understanding,
not governed by judgement or creed,
rather perceived in balance of a soul’s path
the hardship of learning
and the pain of misdeed;
the acceptance of circumstance,
the visions of why,
an adoption of imperfection,
and the truth above a lie.

A tincture for stillness,
for without it we are overwhelmed,
when the heart is confused,
beyond its own realm;
the need for serenity,
the acceptance of weight,
the necessity to relinquish
all the burdens of fate,
until we may rest in quiet repose.

A tincture for hope,
for without it we’re lost,
a world in troubled conflict,
where there’s danger in response;
the faith in ourselves,
with potential in mind,
the knowing we can endure,
despite the negative endless rhyme,
that we must aspire to overcome.

    I love your tincture, Tony, and feel it coursing through my veins and settle in my heart and soul. Your second stanza is how I love from deep within. There is no other way for me. Your poem is so beautiful and the perfect remedy for all. Thank you for sharing your recipe. It is what the world needs.
