The Propagation of Hatred in Hearts of Darkness

The Propagation of Hatred in Hearts of Darkness

Hatred is a burden,
a weight that colors every moment,
a lens that distorts reality into an expectation
built on paranoia and dark clouds
that cover life in perpetual bad weather.

One seed quickly becomes a mighty tree,
with roots that spread throughout the earth,
to taint all that is, to create imbalance,
and extended branches flush with leaves
do corrupt the air with poison, breathe.

And those who carry this burden,
abide its negative chatter,
its constant exposure to dark events
and anything that matters,
singed in the fire of its malignancy.

Soon, everything is despised,
nothing is good enough
and eyes no longer see the beauty in life,
just the strife, the struggle, the oppression
believed to be aimed at them, their hatred returned.

And so goes the cycle,
a soul hardened to the possibility of good,
only seeing the darkness brew
and the pointless hardship of life ensue,
as their hate becomes an entity of its own.

Then, slaves they become to the darkness of heart,
their only purpose to propagate the hatred,
the suffering and the placated
by those of positive intentions,
rejected as demented, when hatred rules a heart.
