Indecision’s a Bitch

The bitch…
Gnashing, crackling uncertainty,
tinged in a putrid brown deceit,
hovers like some specter, looming,
clothed as hunger’s honed elite,
and where is reason, hiding under the bed,
no need for treason,
no need for deserting a ship not sinking,
just a perilous doubt
at the brink of blinking,
wry smiles, words unsaid.
I can feel them, just a breath away,
waiting, pleasured by my reticence,
my stagnant innocence at play,
buried heads in holes so dark,
breathless panic, no remarks,
as doubt aspires to grow,
and I just don’t want to know,
this confusion causes palpitations,
my reputation in tatters,
as clouded I am, indecision.
Pegged, tethered to a desert floor,
sun relentless scorching flesh,
and mind frazzled, dried and etched,
as I writhe in the pain of indecision,
doubts like circling vultures fly,
crossing shadows, flickering decay on high,
and soul aches in desperate ill,
of all that tricks and tempts a frantic man,
a purgatory procured
by his own tremulous hands.

Tony, I hope you have an epiphany and you can shed this indecision (whatever that may be). It certainly can be described as a “bitch.” Well written verse here.
Not mine to overcome John, just a human condition with which most will relate. Glad you enjoyed the thoughts and expression my friend.
It is awful, paralyzingly. I have never sensed that from you Tony, but this piece certainly covers it for those who have experienced it. To know what you want, steadfast, is a gift to claim. Great work!
Best,
Mel
Yes not me personally, but it is a human experience that many suffer.m Glad you related and enjoyed the thoughts Mel. Cheers!
A vivid image of doubts circling like vulchers above one perplexed in a desert of indecision. Stark imagery in this well penned piece. Well done, Tony.
Thanks Phyllis, glad you enjoyed the read. Cheers!
