Cherishing Each Tomorrow
There were days,
when she felt,
that perhaps,
it would be better –
if another tomorrow didn’t come.
Then she looked at the day,
with eyes of love,
at the sky and the beauty all around.
When they spent time,
together making it seem so right
and joy filled their hearts and souls.
Then tomorrows began to bring smiles
and their passion let them go on again.
Days that bring no sun
and that seem to be no fun,
simply get turned around –
when love fills their hearts.
When he said such sweet things
and let her know how loved she was,
when he turned her day from ordinary –
into something wonderful and extraordinary.
Then they were glad for each tomorrow,
each tomorrow that brought no more sorrow.
So when there came a time,
that her steps were not light
and all her tomorrows seemed so bleak,
she remembered the good times –
the things which brought her great joy.
She looked for him and his smile,
his touch that made her heart beat fast.
His kisses that brought hope,
through all the gloom,
bringing sunshine into every room.
So bring on all those tomorrows,
that promise so much more,
for one never knows –
how many tomorrows of love there’ll be.
She vowed to turn her world around
and take pleasure in each day,
they shared
and each magical starry night,
when they were –
just like one.
Passion took their world away,
to some place where clouds with the moon played,
nighttime shadows,
made for dreams beneath the stars.
Sometimes it’s hard to believe,
in a love so real
and she had to wonder –
why tomorrows should be so hard to face.
She guessed perhaps because,
no one ever knows,
if another tomorrow –
will bring more I love yous.

Nicely penned Rasma, and I guess life is about perspective, if we see life with a loving heart, the world looks very different. Great work.
Thank you Tony.
Lovely verse on how love can raise us up to joy and a better outlook on life. Great work, Rasma.
Thank you Phyllis.
Your love poems never disappoint, Rasma…there is always a happy ending or silver lining to look forward to.
Thank you John. I believe as much as I can in happy endings and love to walk through life with rose colored glasses. However I do realize that at times the rain must fall and some ending are not happy.
