Believe in Ourselves…Not Dogmas

Paradigms fall like bowling pins,
nudged gently by new winds of change,
and holding fast to past just
muddies the waters,
new ideas cast for future’s affray.
Tried and true, yet falling
seeks perspective’s vast array,
and what was dark and scary
may now save humanity from itself,
for ideals are impossible to uphold.
Watch the clouds burgeon, evolve,
and so do we in thoughts to solve
our fundamental problems,
until full-circle we in misery,
find simplicity by degree.
What communism rose in fear and dread,
democracy in corruption bled,
and what system will evolve
to find a balance,
a way to live beyond the ploys of selfish men.
Religion even worse,
a curse to all who understand,
what it commands in power and manipulations still,
causes to destroy and not to quell the wars,
for dogmas are blinded thoughts of ill.
At core we are flawed,
imperfection our most obvious state,
and we must evolve too, to elevate ourselves
find hearts to mediate,
the spiritual calling the only way to peace.
I am weary of hatred, wars and decimation,
beliefs so adhered the causation of ill,
when love is all we need
to supersede a dark and ugly past,
and give up everything that vilifies ourselves,
to live in peace.

I agree with the sentiments expressed – But what is this ‘love’ that is all we need?
PS
Isn’t ‘Love is all we Need’ a dogma?
A positive belief systems in not a dogma because it has no boundaries, specific rules. And love in a broader view, meaning appreciation for all forms of life and existence.
Very well penned, Tony. I agree love is what the world needs to overcome hate. Love, harmony and balance in the spirit can influence others to want peace in this world. I see no reason for wars – it only causes death and sorrow.
It does Phyllis, but unfortunately many people have no concept of spirituality, no real moral compass and a predilection for greed and power. For this, we all suffer the consequences of imbalance and disharmony. Take care.
Religion is the worst example of how a dogma is flawed. Religion has started and is starting triggering war. Political dogma is flawed just by the word, each and every politician is a corrupt and greedy individual, with no care as to spiritual peace. Love is the match to light our way to peace, but there are a few fires that need to be lit and a few problems that need to be addressed before we can get to this place. Nice work Tony, very thought provoking.
Glad you enjoyed my thoughts Paul, yes a long road ahead. Cheers!
