What Binds Me to Life

Beyond a point, a life lived,
sight settles on circumstance
like a morning mist,
diaphanous cool beauty afloat,
and so much more than sight is known,
a shell cast aside to relish truth’s scope.
And there is a warm quiet state,
like a sigh released,
in knowing much more
than through ego’s eyes,
a perspective that grows and grows,
a sagacious impassivity, that glows.
Tis not the pursuit of anything,
just an acceptance of knowledge,
that forges paths to understanding,
the tribulations that once rocked worlds,
now but a ripple on the surface,
and warmth aspires all thought.
Beyond that point, where no more is sought,
life eases back to a calm repose,
and eyes see truth in parenthesize,
not stricken by complications of will,
rather, happiness is clothing,
as hurts and conflict are just rifts in time.
Through these eyes, lies are spilled as lies,
intentions are clothed smiles
and truth is written clearly in will’s open spaces,
and it rattles not this heart,
for it has all been seen before,
people in repetitive worlds so small.
For me, my aspirations,
they seem to dissipate
within the doing of my pleasures,
not results at stake,
just the enduring gift of expression
that binds me to life so elegantly.
