And the sea undressed her

The Sea Undressed Her …

sea undressed

If I never go near the sea again I pray that
I will not see her there
It is her presence   that wills silently  of all the feeling
within anyone’s  heart

We had danced and laughed  and tasted the wine
but one day at the sea was all it took
I knew in an instant she would not be mine
and  yet why not and why not now ?

It wasn’t so much that she undressed as did
the sea undress her
I watched in envy at the gentle  hands of the waves
lay softly upon her flesh

And in that one instant I knew my hands could never hold
a woman who loves the sea as this
In one small moment she laid her hand upon  the water
and moved the tides in kind

Her heart is owned by the sea as is her flesh
caressed in kind
and I can never compete  with this  lonely place
where the tides own even her mind

The sea undressed her and the sun caressed
the tides even  own her emotions
for who am I to steal her away from
the sea and all it’s motions

Sometime in my life, I started to write about my life journey, or in poetry, in story perhaps to sort out the missing from the found perhaps and enter them into a place of safekeeping. The soul of the writer is perhaps best described in their own words, emotions and thoughts. If these poems or stories touch something inside you then maybe I have succeeded in sharing. I will not write about my self in profile, because self isn't so important in writing. Only the journey in words and the sharing are important. Why would we say "Now about me!"... I'd rather write about life, nature, serenity ...

Nice Ed, with a light kind of esoteric feel that is haunting. The sea has many faces and this piece worked so well. Well penned and enjoyed my friend.
PS. not a criticism, but the the two ‘kind’ rhymes I feel stood out. Perhaps look at changing the first to rhyme with ‘this’. I think it would remedy that little glitch. Just my opinion. Great work mate!
