Pallid Moon, My Hopes Attuned

Pallid moon,
somber is your countenance,
as veils of earthly cloud do taint you,
yet you take the sky,
front stage eye of the cosmos,
and what you see adrift,
silent travail in studded skies uplift my mood,
gazing above in wonder, I,
as if some god you spy
upon my mortal room.
And glimmer your silvery loom,
steady as clouds race in diaphanous array,
skating across your nightly play,
as luminous eternity backs your parade,
and I in heart attest your beauteous ruin,
a moon bereft of life
yet filled with hopes in human hearts,
loves sweet grace
and glorious thoughts attuned
to your endless glowing light.
And how you change
dance within your light,
colors soft and subtle hues,
bring you to each night confused, yet
placated by your ever-present sight,
your arcing path a mark of time itself,
as slumber takes the human world, yet you
awake to navigate the night,
follow dreams and nourish thoughts delight,
as you descend and beckon day to begin.

Such a lovely greeting to the moon in your eloquent style, Tony. I love to watch the moon in her different phases, especially when she dances among clouds. Very nice piece indeed.
Glad you enjoyed it Phyllis. have a great day!
