For What its Worth, Lose Me
Lose me in the wheat fields,
touched by a thousand yearning fingers,
as I sway as they in winds caress,
rolling golden fields of bliss
and sun to warm my faded heart,
give me pleasure in the aftermath of pain,
and let the deep blue sky crown my being,
with infinite whispers of wildest dreams,
and my steps the slow ebbing of time,
my earthly state so cumbersome,
so let my soul released to infinite skies,
to freedom find some peace,
in this physical state of being.
Lose me in the ocean,
amid those foam crested peaks,
and the rolling swell of life’s movement
within the blue of oceans deep,
and holding breath my neck outstretched,
clenching hard to life;
let me know the struggle I bare,
in these many climbs so rife,
and give me patience in this watery float,
so I may sustain and never drown,
in all the trouble and fires I start,
that burden the soul and weigh me down,
blinded to the light.
Lose me in the darkness,
for it alone shows me all I fear,
so not to believe in the fantasies,
that plague my mind and blur what’s clear,
for one candle in this void of place,
can illuminate existence,
and all my doubts and worries,
just take flight and restore my innocence,
bring me back to light;
so let me know those secrets
that bind my freedom flight,
and simply just release them,
transform my qualms to insight.
