Love Seeks Not Imprisonment

Love Seeks Not Imprisonment

love seeks
True Love is Eternal

Love seeks not imprisonment,
Nor does it wish to enslave
Mind, body, heart and soul,
Tis not the way love will grow,
For love needs space and freedom,
To be a prisoner or slave
Kills any love one professed,
Then it is not love, but a lie.

To love is to open the heart and soul to another,
To be loved is to feel it in the deepest part of the soul,
And it is this love which is held sacred
Above all else in life, in the world,
True love is a gift of unconditional love
And acceptance of and for each other,
It is the greatest thing to hold on to in life,
For love is life itself, the center of life.

Love seeks truth, balance and harmony
It seeks two who are willing to give
And receive a committment to
Each other for life, for eternity,
To walk the same path in life
And know that space is needed
For each to grow ever more spiritually,
So as to grow spiritually together.

To fall asleep at night knowing you are loved,
And to hold the one you so dearly love,
Is a blessed gift, a spiritual unity,
And the greatest happiness in life.
To awaken to this gift is to breathe
And enjoy every moment together,
True love is cherished and cared for,
Love fills every moment of life with joy.

I am an author on TCE and write mainly in poetry and short stories. I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.

Beautifully rendered Phyllis and very true, love is sharing and can never be considered an ownership or a limited in any way. Well done.

How true you words ring, such great phrasing. Love is the embodiment of true happiness, without love the smile droops a little lower. And the quote at the end was fantastic as well. Love is something you feel right down to your bones, it is never something forced and needs balance. Great piece Phyllis. ~Paul
