To Explore the Rigid Thoughts of a Journey

To Explore the Rigid Thoughts of a Journey
To Explore the Rigid Thoughts of a Journey

Unwittingly I walk to the next stop,
the journey’s show but tweaked,
yet missing the train, hard to explain,
has brought me to another street, unfamiliar,
and stops become something else,
for they are different and therefore my journey;
so what awaits, what is proffered
more than my destination?

If every stop gives my journey an alternate route,
then why do I strive for the end,
when surely each stop may change that fate,
just for its provocation, its offering,
and I for not missing my ride,
would be none the wiser,
yet what have I lost, at what cost my loss,
my journey’s end?

Two doors stand in clear focus,
our choice deciding the fate, the journey,
and often missing the train is our salvation
for what we discover in the certainty of knowing,
that fate has other ideas than ours,
and grateful we should be for the inconvenience,
for that may be the making of epiphany,
when life twists to our turn, be open.

Often the most profound journeys
are those we have not chosen,
but instead of cursing our ineptitude with regret,
we should be vigilant for its learning,
as life may lead us from choice or not,
to all we need and may discover,
but the freedom of random taking risk,
can deliver a rigid mind to recover.

Oh boy, yes I have missed your wisdom. Life is such a journey, and by choice or not, regret and lament seems wasted breaths. The journey makes us who we are, teaches us, and hopefully delivers growth along the way. Excellent, thanks again, my friend.

    Best,
    Mel

Very wise expressions, Tony. The Fates seem to know which way we should go. Another thought-provoking verse here and I love it. Well done, Tony.

Much appreciated Phyllis, I think its important to reconsider these aspects of life as it is so easy to slip into the day to day and forget about the purpose, the journey of learning. Take care my friend.
