The Ebbs and Flows, to Embrace

As the waves crashed powerfully
against the ragged shore,
one could feel its delicate balance,
one moment in languid ease,
the next in fervent throws of rage,
yet with no intent did it serve,
just the ongoing surges
and relenting flows of life.
And as the wind did bluster
in waves of its own,
the same reality occurred,
no blame or judgement could compromise
that flow, that knowing movement,
ebbs and flows just part
of the intricate will of nature,
enacting its process.
So life without intent,
does move the likes of us,
our choices driven to expedite,
what we in intent did muster,
and blame cannot appease the truth,
the movements of our will,
for we are in control,
our choices painting a canvas distilled,
that we call circumstance.
And all abides the flow,
the movements of right and wrong
and misunderstood,
all with results to rectify the balance,
the chance to learn and with quiet resolve,
to accept the paths we choose,
and also the problems that in circumstance ensue,
by our own hands did create.
The ebbs and flows of life are just that,
the opposite of stagnancy,
and we should accept the ride,
for it is blessed with gifts
that otherwise would escape us,
we, so immersed in the ending
we may not notice the journey at all,
the very purpose of learning.

Much appreciated Ed, pleased you enjoyed the work. Cheers!
Very nicely penned, Tony. Ebbs and flow are surely part of life. When we flow in harmony and balance life is much easier and pleasant. Beautiful verse, I love it.
Right now I am just flowing with the discomfort of sciatic nerve pain, doing my best with ice packs and rest – so I have some catching up to do with comments and writing.
Thanks Phyllis, sorry to hear that, nothing worse than nerve pain. Hope it clears up quickly. I’ve been away from the site a bit too, and have to catch up. Take care
