As Confrontation Looms

As Confrontation Looms
As Confrontation Looms

And as the pendulum swings,
the realizations cluster like cancer cells,
destruction the only knell,
the only consequence,
when puffed up ego’s and grandstanding,
entice irrational minds to action.

I consider the principles in question,
a world where demarcation is more than boarders,
but cultural wedges to divide,
and I see it is chosen out of fear,
segregated as we must be,
for belief or control.

Peace neither settles nor placates
an ambitious mind,
one set on power’s alluring fate,
and the cost is never really considered,
for their will is to subjugate dissidence,
and to enact their supreme will.

The world suffers these soul’s delusions of grandeur,
their personal aspirations,
far from the safety and protection of their sovereign lands,
rather dictatorial pursuits all the product
of ignorance and misguided righteousness,
the bane of less than spiritual souls.

So we may perish at their hands,
for no good reason at all, no justification,
just lines drawn in the sand to dare disobedience,
and it is much like a sandpit,
children playing, finding their will and contesting
all that stands in their way.

I pray one day peace will be valued,
at least more than petty egos and narcissistic minds,
and that a sense of spirituality will be once again restored,
rather than the cheap values of wealth and power,
leading us to nowhere,
only a possible annihilation.

To value peace and restore spirituality can be accomplished if people get over their egos and delusions. Why, I wonder, is it so difficult for some to strive for peace? Very well expressed piece, Tony.

Oh! Did I totally misunderstand this one, Tony? The last several days I have either been in a lot of pain or on pain meds – so am not as clear-minded as normal (if I ever am). LOL

Earth certainly does not need yet another battleground.
