Oh! Our Mother Earth
Our Mother Earth
Oh! Our Mother Earth, how great you are!
You weigh 6.6 sextillion tons and provide shelter to all,
That’s why you are called “A Mother of All.”
You are a place, a place to thrive,
Where we live and spend our life,
We love you in abundance like a child,
We bow our head with Love and pride,
We live and die at front of your eyes,
We again take birth and you give us life.
But, sometimes in life, I feel your pain,
The pain you feel is arduous to explain,
Strange to say, yet veritable to think,
Let’s hear the Truth which will make us sink.
The fanatics are born to divide us all,
Terrorists are here to shatter the Peace overall,
Nuclear bombs are made for an invasion and fight,
Perhaps, there would be another world war right?
The pollution the human spreads is not so right,
The news of Global Warming is now alarming,
We are now afraid to see our Earth charming.
That is why natural calamities take place,
Poor Earth is injured and seems to die and fade,
We now encounter floods, volcanoes,
Earthquakes and hurricanes,
It’s because the evil in us has taken a place,
Our Earth then weeps and just weeps,
She never utters a word in pain and grief.
Dear Earth, you are great; as great as God,
Who forgives the evil who hurt you a lot,
Pity to say our humanity has a clot,
Poisoning the purity is not what we sought.
Please stop these atrocities with our Earth,
Keep in mind!
She is our Mother who gives us Birth.

Nicely penned and emotive as to the plight of earth after we have stripped her of resources, disregarded her blessings, intent on greed and destruction. A sound message well expressed.
Well said, Tony. Thank you for the feedback. Appreciated!
Very well written verse about our Mother Earth. A much needed message to all. Great work, Surabhi.
Thank you, my Dear Phyllis. I am glad that you enjoyed.
Surabhi, this is an important message that for those that have the power to change seem not to listen.
Yes, absolutely, Kurt. Glad that you came here 🙂
There is a wonderful message in this well-written poem, Surabhi. I feel guilty on behalf of all mankid for the attrocities we have performed on the Mother Earth. I hope she recovers from all the wrongs. Great work.
Thank you, my Dear Jodah. You must have read this before. Just posting some of my older work here 🙂 I have shifted from HP to Creative Exiles. Feels like a home here. Thanks once again for the feedback.
