The Game of Truth or Dare

Evidence falls to the mind of query,
deliberation the all sides scope of perception,
and belief a resolution of come to pass,
the elevation of evidence to doubts released;
and so we banter with truths in clothing,
some more real in tainted minds,
and others layers deep in hiding,
from the fears they may render us blind;
so unbeknownst we consider all,
unknowing the biases that cradle our truths,
and be certain of our investments,
even though the game we play a ruse.
Sitting at the periphery,
I watch confidence implore the lies,
molded truths in flashy clothes,
dispensing guise to friends and foes,
and blindly are the wheels of judgement,
branding boxes in neat straight lines,
each to fit like gloves within,
the pretenders constricted eyes;
and knowing this the mind equates,
the ruse accepted to mediate,
a life well planned to differentiate,
what appears good or bad.
Yet until the clothes become obsolete,
what truth can abide in a life this weak,
delusions the carriage of wants preferred,
dressed in layers of the profoundly absurd;
just to appease a soul wanting,
to sculptured truth while lies absconding,
and believing the mud that’s slung by name,
of all that opposes and in reality shames,
the truth of delusions caste in stone,
that burden a life and that in life disown,
the memories before the lies,
that compromised a life bereft.

Eventually the one who verbally attacks and spews lies to “friends and foes” will destroy self, for the truths always find the way out. Very well phrased, Tony. Well done dear friend.
Much appreciated Phyllis, glad you related. take care.
