The Eternity of Another Mind

The Eternity of Another Mind
The Eternity of Another Mind

To gaze into infinity is a paradox of sorts,
for it is no vessel, not held by sides, top or bottom,
so then to gaze upon it there is no conclusion,
only a timeless eternal state,
much a refection of the object of focus.

All we see is a skin, a surface of such depth,
we cannot fathom its end, as it has none,
and we cannot see further as distance blurs the reality,
and all we know is time has no substance,
here in the endless graveyard and birthing place of life.

As a child I would gaze with such determination,
expecting some end to my enquiry,
yet still eternity just begs acceptance,
and I none the wiser for its paradoxical enigma,
seen before us, yet without end.

Perhaps eternity is just a measure beyond our understanding,
and there is an end, one sphere to another,
each within an eternity as we see it,
immeasurable yet ends and beginnings finite,
and further still measures beyond that.

Form is a haunting mystery,
our minds seeking understanding,
and when formless, eternal states are to be understood,
we cannot bare the irresolution,
rather, seek forms to attribute to an acceptance.

Aside, I see such beauty in the paradox,
such hope and assurance of life’s infinite pledge,
and no matter how small we are,
we may well be the carrier of worlds,
each sphere within the eternity of another mind.

Ah! an inspiration for spiritual mystery. I love these thoughts, Tony – it makes me want to delve in and give it a lot of pondering. If each sphere leads to another it would be like a universal DNA. Very interesting and thought provoking verse you have here.

Thanks Phyllis, I’have always considered the macrocosm / microcosm theory a viable one, that gives us a new perspective on what infinity is. Cheers!
