In a Blink of Time’s Rendering

A mere mortal fathoming a God’s world,
did question the purpose of suffering:
no lesson attached, no purpose of good, or transformation,
just the pure physical and emotional experience of suffering,
and for what apparent advantage.
He sat upon a knoll
and looked pensively into the endless sky,
and pondered with his meager intellect
what a God would want with suffering souls,
if not for learning, and exacting such pain.
Uttering not a word,
God went cold, refused to wear the blame,
and this poignant silence taught the mortal
that pain perhaps was our own devise,
that life came with death and suffering within it.
Maybe the plan stopped at creation, and all that ensues
is our causation, the results of our actions,
and so the mortal, as if a light had switched on,
pursued the thought and in justification;
God is not to blame he concluded.
We are placed in life, the joys and strife,
and it is by our hand what occurs thereafter,
and blaming God or anyone else is without purpose,
for no-one else’s guidance brought us here but ours,
our thoughts and actions espouse the truth.
The mortal knew God was somewhere,
but certainly not listening to his feeble conclusions,
and having placed us here was enough, the rest is up to us,
and blame a misnomer, for all the pain we feel
is simply the circumstances of our life, nothing more meaningful.
Upon a knoll a mortal thought of God’s world,
and came up wanting,
but he did realize his own world, filled with joys and pain,
and with no-one to blame for all our mistakes,
just the learning of a being within a blink of time’s rendering.

Great work with a remarkable message, Tony. If more people came to the same conclusion, this would be a kinder world, indeed.
Glad you related and enjoyed Phyllis. thank you and take care.
