Wings of Hope
Wings of Hope
Ever sensed “Hope”? Ever felt it?
Come, come my Beloved!
Feast thy eyes on arid land,
Where myriad mortals lent their hands
And sowed the seeds of survival,
Moisture and of Hope;
Aye, dry eyes campaigned with zest,
Alas! Sundry seasons arrived and left,
Whilst seeds of Hope gazed up at the firmament,
The oceans of the Immortals caressed the thirst,
And roots were born from the womb Divine,
Lo! The lush green leaves flutter heavenly on arid land!
Feast thy eyes on vulnerable ants,
Their tiny hands lug the grain,
Inspiring Hope’s pilgrimage with sanity;
Aye, they treaded with courage and faith in mind,
Alas! They fell a thousand times,
They soared and slipped,
Then slipped and soared again,
Until their Hope became untamed.
Slowly, O’ Slowly,
The Divine rays of Hope guided their path
In the sheer darkness and cold,
Lo! The vulnerable ants surmounted the peaks!
Feast thy eyes on silky feathers,
They frolic in sunset and in dawn,
‘Hope for tomorrow’ is their song,
Aye, her feathers are tender and all frail,
Alas! Storm from dusk drenched when hailed,
The bird of Hope flies in high altitude,
Even when the dusk
Emerges like a kohl-coloured blanket;
The bird knows not to tremble in gale,
She waltzes to the rhythm and sound of rain;
So many feathers a haven for warmth,
Lo! The Wings of Hope are not afraid of alarm!
Ever sensed “Hope”? Ever felt it?
Come, come my Beloved!
