Through Beauty’s Eyes…transcending
Beauty is a perception to be learned,
not a gift just given, but a way of living,
a way of seeing life that transcends
our blind taking for granted viewpoint,
that so often marks our lives.
The mundane aspects of living
keeps reason afloat,
yet it is the ability to see beyond that,
that inspires creative thought,
imaginations that open new worlds of perception.
Our feet do indeed need to be on the ground,
to maintain this earthly life,
but it is how we see that transforms,
for life is complex and undeniably beautiful,
each cell, each movement with purpose.
No matter where we look,
beauty fulfils our wildest dreams,
should we allow ourselves the vision,
the perspective that understands the miracle,
the irrefutable perfection that crowns life.
Beauty is a necessary sustenance,
music, art, creative expression are not just pursuits
but necessary to minds capable of much more,
and in allowing ourselves to see through these eyes,
we connect to the infinite, the divine,
the core of life’s offering.
Beauty is an intrinsic part of being,
a perception that expands our potential to understand,
and in achieving it, we enrich our lives threefold,
even amid the troubles of daily survival,
beauty brings us to higher thought, and understanding.

Very inspirational and well written, Tony. Beauty is all around us, often it may not be acknowledged by those who are always in a hurry to get somewhere. I have not traveled extensively, but I look for beauty every where I go, and you are so right in that it is “a perception that expands our potential to understand, and in achieving it, we enrich our lives threefold,”
I see such beauty that brings tears to my eyes. The beauty of my son’s music, the beauty of my daughter’s love of life and art, the beauty of my grandchildren, Nature, the sky, even rocks and boulders – it is every where I look. I am rambling again. Sometimes when I read your poetry it inspires memories and expression. I see the beauty in your works, Tony, and I love it. Great work, dear poet.
