Solitude of Grace – Once In a Blue Moon
Sumptuous Solitude
The sun has arbitrarily bowed
With departure framed waves
Encompassing luminous rays,
As I sit by the window
Watching the dawn emerge,
There lies a perfumed silence in my room
That’s broken by the ticking of clock
Perchance amidst my Heart,
A peculiar numbness rests
As an empty vessel must feel
And photos captured in reel
Deep inside, poetry is clove hitched
In the midst of my Heart
And my trembling lips are stuck
To extract voluptuous words
For I’ve battled for hours, darling
Yet fluttering like caterpillars
They deny settling on the white
Blank paper enveloped on my lap
Memories smitten by your Love,
Vigour and dynamic persona
Have kept me awake all night long
So much so that I blush in hush
If solitude is that intoxicating
Then I’d yearn to march endlessly
To catch one little reminiscence
Of our heartiest conversation
How I long for a rendezvous
With this sumptuous solitude
To write a chronicle of our fondness
But your name itself suffices.

Well constructed in fine poetic phrasing and word play. Lovely work again Surabhi, very much enjoyed.
