Quell the Anger…its just not worth it

Quell the Anger...its just not worth it
Quell the Anger…its just not worth it

Quell the rage, and be kind…

The world is filled with anger,
venting souls of actions
far from consciousness,
reacting from as plethora of obstacles
that tease life to limits,
and so the vile hatred and displeasure
finds flow in anger’s release.

Rage is the last straw,
the point of no return,
when expression rules a mind in surrender,
and the blind actions can cause much pain,
the ramifications of which can change lives,
consequence a seeming imbalance
to anger’s will.

Each day frustration and confusion
help anger to rise,
on the roads, in shops and on the street,
people venting with rage, indiscreet,
causing circumstances unwanted,
with results that may persevere
far beyond expectations.

Are these vile outbursts worth the consequence,
when three deep breathes
and a little kindness can attest,
a far less complex outcome,
and problems overcome with just compassion
for the dark days we all at times have,
to quell the anger with a smile of understanding.

I agree with you, Tony. Coming from anger never results in a peaceable compromise or resolution. Thank you for sharing this. Nice work.

Much appreciated Phyllis, I’m melting here the third day well over 100F. I can only stay in my room where the computer is for about ten minutes. Our air con is not duct-ed and the lounge area is just keeping up with cooling. I do hate these days. Love to swap with you for a day, but you can stay there too. Too bloody hot here!

Great advice Tony ! I often think that my mothers teachings led me to too passive a nature , But once in a while someone compliments me as being “a rock “, of being very steady , at least I think that’s what they mean !………….;-]
