My Earthly Garden…where thoughts like blooms so sweet

Earthly thoughts…
Eclectic thoughts
like colored balloons released,
explore eternity’s blue forever,
in every direction they fly,
so high yet so near to us,
our world but a speck
in a single glint of light,
hardly noticed at all.
Thoughts meander like weary streams,
languid flows of ancient past,
and we look upon their reflections,
momentary sparkles
of dawn’s finest soliloquy,
as if new day is all there is,
and ripples are but a newness breaking free,
to trial life’s opportunities.
I watch the black and gold unfurl
upon these lands that echo home,
and every state of light, I partake,
imbibe with ardor
for all of life at stake,
held to question of purpose and meaning,
the thoughts that ask my seeing
for the truth.
My thoughts, free to infinity,
scatter amid the mourning clouds,
whispers that shout out loud,
I am, amid this blissful play,
and yearning holds a mind to stay,
to see beyond the next horizon,
to know what epiphany awaits,
here, in this earthly garden, by heaven’s gate.

Nicely penned and enjoyable read, Tony. I remember when I was a kid one day sitting in my Dad’s workshop as he worked on making lawn chairs, I was very deep in thought. Usually I was a chatterbox when I was lucky enough to be alone with Dad. He paused his work and looked at me. He asked me what I was thinking about. “Where do all these words in my head come from?” He told me they were my inner thoughts, as if I were talking to myself. I think that was the first time I realized those words in my head were ‘thoughts’. Since then I have always been aware of my thoughts and over time learned to have good thoughts. Since I see you as a natural teacher, many of your pieces make me think about my Dad, who was my most important teacher in life. Great work, Tony.
Thank you Phyllis, quite a compliment. So pleased you relate and enjoyed my many musings. Take care.
Just wonderful. It was sheer pleasure to read, to dream and to imagine. A symphony of poetic words.
Thanks so much Rasma, pleased you enjoyed the expression. Take care.
