Dawning of a New Day…the Metaphor

Dawning of a New Day...the Metaphor
Dawning of a New Day…the Metaphor

So courteous the darkness fades,
and the glow of rising light pervades
the waking landscape,
colors infused in such a blended array,
cannot be described in words,
for impossible beauty is spayed across the sky,
the rays like a delicate fan
encroach upon the end of night.

The air is crisp,
a farewell tinge of night,
as sun gives rise to life from slumber deep,
and birds sing of beginnings,
greet the new with passionate glee and flight,
high above the world, as shadows long intrude
upon the darkened embrace of dreams,
moments held until those shards of light glean the day.

One cannot ignore this glorious parade,
light attesting day,
and hope glimmers from each moment in yield,
as transition imbibes a mind
to see the opportunities of the new,
the possibilities that life proffers,
and it is good to be alive,
another step into the journey of being.

To witness dawn is a sacrosanct experience,
and like all beginnings it is swollen with promise,
laden with our own dreams,
and it seems to never reject our hopes,
if only we would hold them close and nurture them,
live our lives on our terms,
and learn how we are upheld by life itself,
to do what we truly want.
