Sated Life in Antiquity

Sated Life in Antiquity
Sated Life in Antiquity

Antiquity, at peace…

I seek shallow waters, still
and imbued with light,
the sky refection all I see,
the gloaming hues into night
to seal my slumber.

By day shards do caress
the floor of my waters,
each stone smoothed and at peace,
worn of love and in silence, released,
as I wish to be.

And creatures large and small
drink from my waters,
quenched of life so freely given,
and I watch their calm ingestion,
life shared in harmony.

Even in troubled skies,
where thunder bold and flashing bolts
of light, do razor sharp the air,
I do not care,
for I am immersed in life and earth.

As body fades and mind pervades,
everywhere becomes my plight,
as turning worlds and nature’s hallowed sight
becomes my own,
and every petal, every bow is me,
stated life in antiquity.
