One Step From Dreams

New step, original thought…
Occupied with distraction life flies by,
but has an original thought ever pried open a mind,
ever challenged creativity to manifest in profusion,
to bypass delusion and seek a renewal
in unique and meaningful form?
Often life can be a sedentary infusion,
a known and safe illusion of living,
that in repetition holds a mind to slavery,
the dull and reoccurring breaths
that reveal nothing but time passing.
Undulations can be like weather,
changeable, but expected and accepted,
and offering no challenge for a calcifying brain,
just a train ride through a well known landscape,
eyes vacantly seeing nothing.
Without creative thought, we are locked in a cage,
a slave to our routines, our repetition,
and nothing evokes freedom,
just a dull accepted being that keeps us in stillness,
the safety of yesterday’s embrace.
One step beyond, is a new perspective,
thoughts untamed by time’s relentless passage,
when thought is an adjunct to new experience,
and creation the very core of life’s gift,
where beauty and profundity live,
one step from dreams.

very true Tony..most of us are content in living a “safe” life and travel through well trodden paths..but those who reap the highest reward or satisfaction from lives are the ones who are bold enough to be unique and creative though they have to face many challenges in reaching their destination..a very thought provoking write so masterfully written..thank you for sharing..have a lovely day!
Thanks Anjana, glad you related and enjoyed my thoughts. Take care my friend and enjoy your day also.
Beautiful thoughts, Tony. To break away from the mundane and take that one step beyond opens the mind to greater creativity and self-worth. To be uninhibited and listen to those untamed thoughts opens the door to “beauty and profundity”. Marvelous thoughts, great work.
Much appreciated Phyllis, glad you related and enjoyed my words. have a great day!
