No Burden Need be Heavy in Light

No Burden Need be Heavy in Light
No Burden Need be Heavy in Light

No burden is heavy when accepted with joy,
yet we so malign our burdens
until they are swollen with our malice,
our blame and indignation, a monster
we cannot subvert;
and so we engage a battle,
a struggle to set us free from burdens,
that we ourselves have fed.

Burden infers weight,
yet weight is the conclusion of our perception,
and should we accept each one
with joy and a calm preparedness,
then they fall with miraculous ease,
and all our fears not fed,
dissipate with purposeful effort,
and fall into past without notice.

Life is struggle, no doubt,
yet the struggle is never helped
by panic, blame, fear or malice,
and so we have a choice as to how we respond,
how we confront obstacles that impede our lives,
and acceptance, abiding kindness and love’s ideals
can only uplift the power we have over life,
and those challenges that at times appear.

Tis never what we do but how we do it
that transcends the darkness,
sheds light on truth and by laws of nature
mends the broken, nurture the cessation of doubt
and enliven minds to know truth,
not the panicked fears of circumstance,
but reality in light,
the shadows but a play of light’s diversion.
