Contesting Reality with Ownership

Contesting Reality with Ownership
Contesting Reality with Ownership

World without end, beauty without dissension,
is nature’s way; life and death but cycles
within a vast and infinite echo of being,
and who are we to judge in objection,
of nature’s plan, a most profound perfection
of process.

Within our bounds, our limited intellect,
we project the self, a contesting will,
against all life and nature itself,
the very governing of our being,
as if we are in control, our seeing,
gods in our own dreams.

Yet for all our dim views and flagrant disrespect,
we have a potential, a path of far greater meaning,
and to that end nature’s leads us, shows us the way,
through its precision and miraculous being,
of which we are a part,
if only we would acknowledge it.

Beauty transcends our petty wants and desires,
for in balance and perfection, the truth rises,
and we in open heart may see this epiphany,
to rise in mind to greet the truth,
the only truth that matters:
love and harmony our purpose, as it is in nature.

We own nothing, we strive for nothing,
for life is life, a blessed being,
and all obsession with possessions a delusion,
a trap for closed minds, who live for self,
and cannot see the beauty of understanding,
that connection with life and sharing, our innate joy.

So true, Tony. Nature is so powerful in its own beautiful and giving way – I don’t understand how anyone can not be aware of or in love with nature. I saw a post yesterday on how fast animals are becoming extinct and it is sad, so devastating really. How we can survive without nature’s gifts is a scary thing to think about. This poem and so many others you write needs to be shared and read by all. Wonderful inspirational work.

Much appreciated Phyllis, glad you enjoyed my thoughts and expression as you know how important this perception is to both of us. Take care.
