The Blind Belief of Humanity

The Blind Belief of Humanity
The Blind Belief of Humanity….superiority

Clearly sentience is subjective,
impossibly all encompassing
and rarely even partial,
dependant upon perspective,
yet in arrogance we deem ourselves Alfa,
above all other life,
when truly our explorations of life
barely scratch the surface
of what sentience means
in other forms beyond our own.

Because other life forms
like animals, insects, plants and trees
are virtually defenceless,
we do as we please with them,
without understanding the consequence,
daring to think we are in control of this planet,
yet we know the planet itself in an organism,
that requires balance to function,
what we in ignorance work against,
to create havoc.

Plant life have evolved over far greater periods of time,
and we in our stupidity,
believe our awareness superior,
when we don’t even understand the awareness
that plants and trees have within their environment,
nurturing their siblings and family
in times of need,
and sharing resources so elegantly, yet,
we are so unsophisticated and brash in our actions,
in our arrogant stance of believed superiority.

Clearly we are a virus on earth,
we destroy, we kill, we deplete and fashion perfection
into glass and cement spires,
leaving refuse that chokes a living world,
and still, we believe we are Alfa,
even in our suffering populations,
wars and conflict for power and greed,
just the tip of the beginning of the end,
for man will not redeem,
lost in his own blind beliefs.

Since I can remember I have felt that trees and plants have feelings, are aware of the need of their species. I would talk to flowers, trees and other plants. I had a great love for trees and would often touch or hug them. That childhood knowledge has stayed with me. I love this epistle, Tony. Your words and phrases always give enlightenment and pleasure when reading. I am so glad you are in tune with nature, for it gives me confirmation on my own thoughts and love for Mother. Great work.

Thanks Phyllis, yes its important to me too and have always had those feeling, especially with trees. Humanity has done so much to disrupt and hurt the natural order and the way things are going, there seems no change, just a slow disintegration of all flora and fauna on earth. So sad. Take care.
