Wisdom Words and Lots of Love
Happy New Year to all TCE members. I wish you a very joyful and healthy 2017 full of love.
This has been a year of struggles for The Creative Exiles, and we have broken through to become a community of warm-hearted people with support and encouragement for each other. We have forged a new path and new friendships, renewed some old friendships, and here we stand together ready to take on the new year with our creativity, strengths and understanding of who we are. Be proud of yourselves for building such a great community with your fine works which come from your heart and soul.
Your stories and poetry have brought tears to my eyes, joy to my heart, uplifted my spirit, made me laugh, made me ponder, opened my mind, and helped me in many ways to grow spiritually and emotionally.
Whether I read a fiction story or poetry on TCE, I have never seen so much love, inspiration and wisdom words coming from any other group. I am proud of and so very grateful for each of you. It has been a great pleasure and learning experience working with TCE authors and management.
I am fortunate, indeed, to have some friends who always have wisdom words when asked for advice. These friends have many strengths and one of them is the wisdom of words. They are honest, sincere and know exactly what to say to help me make tough decisions.
I want to thank John Hansen and Ralph Schwartz for the fine work they have done to hold us up, keep us alive and keep us moving forward. I am sure it has not been easy for them with so many people with different personalities, but they do not think of that – they just do what they do best, and that is to keep this creative machine oiled and running smooth. They do it with their kindness and understanding of our needs. John and Ralph are a great team and I am so thankful we have them on board.

I have always liked to write.It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions.
I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles forThe Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages.
Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader.

Phyllis- you, Ralph and John, with others too it seems, have done a wonderful job creating and upholding this site. As a newbie here, I greatly appreciate being able to write here. The atmosphere us overwhelmingly friendly and enthusiastic – it rubs off on everyone who enters your doors, it seems.
