When Will Mother Ease Our Pain

When Will Mother Ease Our Pain
When Will Mother Ease Our Pain

Ease Our Pain….

A squall resounds, like waves of disarray,
my windows rattle and the palms outside
are beating down my walls;
and it feels like confusion,
as if nature’s having a bad day,
her breath in multi-directions,
like berating us to say, behave yourselves.

It is a discomfort, standing amid this tempest,
warm but uneasy the thrashing,
definitely a bad hair day;
and I wonder what mood she’s in,
is it anger of just letting off steam,
or perhaps just another cycle,
another wayward dream.

The cat sits by the window,
his discomfort worse than mine,
is it fear that keeps him here inside,
or just respect of what she is beating out in time;
maybe he knows more than I,
quite happy to wait it out on this side of the pane,
until she relents the mood, brings stillness back to reign.

The waves they keep on coming,
the discontent an uneasy day to glean,
but perhaps she’s stirring up some remnants
of what from yesterday weren’t cleaned;
in any case, here I’ll stay, tapping on my keys,
seeking some release,
until the mother decides to ease our pain.

    Bad hair day, huh? Or maybe just a reminder to not mess with the Mother. Beast has the right idea, keep safe. I love this, can almost hear the tantrum going on over there. A bit of fun in a well phrased verse, Tony.
