Still the Fae, Nature’s Warriors
Warriors of nature, creatures of the light…

Inspired by Phyllis Doyle Burns’ ‘Deep Forest Life of the Faerie’
How life has been so narrowed of possibility,
spurned by credibility, and taken
from the imagination with a hard handed dismissal,
those ancient times when the world was truly diverse,
and creatures graced the pages of legend and tale,
unique lives of nature’s nurture
that brought wonder to a heart.
Thoughts are stirred by technology, these days,
not nature, or the entities that serve mother’s will,
for none have change, just our perception,
our openness to the mystical possibilities of life,
no longer are we attuned in our black and white reality,
and only few know those creatures that enlivened
our past with such beauty and wonder.
Perhaps not as they were once described,
the fae or nature spirits still care for nature’s ways,
tending flowers, plants and trees with loving touch,
and joined they are to this energy
that connects everything, from roots to earth,
sharing the nourished earth in complete harmony,
and the winds carry their songs, the earth as one.
We are all connected, a part of earth our mother,
and every single living thing a part of us,
whether plant, stone, animal or any organism,
each a facet of the other; different forms
made of the same substance, the very star dust
from whence we came,
that touch of life endowed by eternity’s favor.

Oh! How absolutely beautiful, Tony. Yes, we are all connected to the “same star dust from whence we came”. You have a beautiful heart and soul. I am so happy my poem inspired you to write such an endearing, lovely piece. What a joyous gift for me. Thank you for sharing such magical, mystical beauty.
Yes Phyllis you got my juices flowing and my muse went into write mode. How I love all the nature spirits and the microcosm of life most people ignore or won’t acknowledge. Such beauty in life, if people would only take the time to see it. Take care.
