My Refuge, My Solace

My one true refuge…
Were it not for the refuge of inner reprieve,
I would not know myself as well,
not understand the limits of my pain
and the gift it yielded in response,
nor would I have realised the insignificance
of my troubled mind,
when all is seen in unencumbered clarity.
How I have afforded time to complain,
to compromise my own knowing,
and fallen to the darkness of days,
when truly they render lessons learned
that restore my mind from doubt,
and bring potential to a path of movement,
to better know my path is right.
This inner space is my solace,
a place where thought is clear and free,
and unburdened by my days,
the complex forging of life in struggle,
where I can rest in quiet abandon,
and abide my soul’s needs,
to find myself in a perfect state of freedom.

It is such a blessing when we can keep that sacred place within for our solace. I love this verse, Tony. Great work.
Thanks Phyllis, pleased you appreciated it. Cheers!
