Moonrise and tides
Moonrise and Tides
When it either happens too soon for the soul to grasp
in all it’s imperfect timing
or it is racing so fast as not to see
perhaps too silent to be rhyming
But the perfect moonrise is only an instant in
the grand scheme of it all
and whether consciousness is concerned or not
that moon is going to fall
And what is a moonrise anyway but
an indication of a soul bent on reflection
just a birth or a death a truth or a lie
a contemplation or inflection
This solitude incites me into melancholy
damned if this life should be for only the living
some of us are already gone even if
that moon keeps on giving
This night will suffer the moon-fall and dawn
perhaps as my mood subsides
as to moonrises and moonfalls both
I pray they outlast the tides

I like that Ed, venting poetic! Guilty of the same my friend. I love the feel of this peace, and who couldn’t love the moon, its transcendent light both romantic and nostalgic and a reminder of the cycles of life, of which we are of course a part. And what is life and death anyway; but a flicker in eternity. Great work my friend.
