The mind’s assimilation…

Slumber holds a heart with warm embrace,
nurturing thoughts and dreams,
like a soft lilting breeze each breath knows,
tomorrow brings new hope, new possibilities,
and so we, lost in flight throughout the dark interlude,
find solace in the peace of rest,
so gentle on the soul.

Outside the world ensues,
in dreams or pursuits of endless change,
as the wheels of life grind on unperturbed,
and we so small within its vast existence,
see so little in our encumbrance,
as night in slumbers arms does propagate
what we can accept, to cope.

Sleep is our panacea,
our venting, expressions of balance’s keep,
and in transition, as a new day unfurls,
we see clearly, as the souls learns,
and assimilates the harsh reproaches of redemption,
often unburdened by slumber,
in the quiet inner sanctum of the soul.

We are many layered,
conscious and unconscious minds,
working for self-realisation and atonement,
for the lessons learned from failure and pain,
and in slumber we find a gentle peace,
while the mind keeps us sane,
delivering us from all that harms, and weighs on a mind.

Very nice, Tony. You are a master at setting moods through your poetry. I find this poem peaceful and quiet. Slumber is often a way for me to step aside from worries long enough for things to sort themselves out. Well done, nicely penned work.
