The End of Days…forever
The End Forever…

Forever…
The sky is falling, the moon let fly,
untethered, floating about the night sky,
while stars unhinged like cinders flicker,
crossing paths and explosions litter,
as moonlight missed is far from sight
and darkness gloom instills a fright,
the end of days is near.
The ground beneath my feet does shake,
and trees are swaying their leaves to take
the air they gave so freely then,
now batters limbs in toxic sin,
and life on bow and in burrow cower,
as tremors awaken fear and terror,
and life does fall apart.
Distant lights of city towers,
flicker off without response or power,
and crumble do those concrete spires,
sparks and winds inflict with fire,
as all in hast and desperation,
try to flee the complication,
as every movement stands still.
The moment you walked out that door,
the world did fall, and I much more,
for what good is a moon, a heart that cares,
when cast aside, prostrate, bare,
and meaning left from an open door,
I cried the tears that did implore,
but to no avail, the end of days.

So heartbreaking when one’s whole world is wrapped within the love of another and is suddenly gone. It is devastating and all life is different, falling apart. I felt the heavy impact of lost love. A masterpiece, Tony.
Much appreciated Phyllis, glad you connected and related to the emotions. Cheers!
