Enchanted Worlds of Duplicity
Enchanted this world, with many planes,
each reality a personal choice,
and perceptions drive all thoughts and voice,
to invigorate the playing field.
Life is unique for all of us,
our take on actuality a wall of ‘experience’ bricks,
our biases and beliefs crafting the visions we have,
of our place in this vast illusion of being.
Some live in fantasy, what’s wanted in dreams,
others tied to past, reliving gone by themes,
and few see the truth, brave enough to endure,
the imperfect souls we are, and the circumstances that ensue.
Understanding then, must be deep and abiding,
to know what people want and who they are,
knowing that we are all an accumulation of experience,
and capable of all that we judge in others.
Yet I feel sorrow for those deluded to think
they are always right, their supposed instinct,
even though the rest of us see the truth,
they never listen, are never convinced.
Enchanted the world may be,
but what connection can we have with our kind,
when our worlds are far apart, and so blind,
to even recognize a common ground.
