Culpability in Light
Culpability…accusers and believers
Perceptions narrowed by parlous lies,
ever-impressed through blinded eyes,
and who chooses to believe
the persecution of another,
is seated in malicious intent,
just as the accuser.
Who then is culpable,
for the slander of a soul, innocent,
but those who believe without addressing truth,
who agree in passionate venting, the lies told,
just for some feeling of superiority,
putting someone down with blatant ferocity.
And doubly the accuser,
by spreading untruths for dramatic effect,
and the maligning of character,
in some bitter twisted scenario,
a compelling gain, a vengeful reign,
to disarm and harm a foe.
I see them drooling like dumb animals,
heartless lies like loosened bowls,
spreading filth where integrity aspires to be,
and yet, without grace, without regret,
accusers launch into dark forays,
just because they can; and mud sticks.
In the end, these vile aberrant souls,
will find nothing left, when all their lies bereft,
their shallow pond all dried up,
and actions come at a toll,
when life turns back
and takes their dreams, whole.
