When Nature Speaks

When Nature Speaks
When Nature Speaks…we should listen

The winds in whispers articulate,
praise day with no regret,
for that is a human trait,
not understood by the natural ways of life;
and the melodies of song
are so beautiful, no heart could dismiss,
no reason could ignore the blissful waves
of endless outpouring,
ignoring not a moment of life,
woven into beauty’s proud light,
and for hearts to find in silent keep.

The clouds in recollection paint,
what’s been and is and sometimes fate,
upon a rich and endless blue,
burgeoning living shapes like messages,
displayed to we earth-bound souls,
the mysteries that life holds and gives,
in full sight, in light of truths
echoed by sky in nature’s way,
so we may consider what part we play
in this eternal journey of existence,
where souls grow like sunflowers.

And the waters hushed by breeze,
in rolling movements of fury and ease,
attest the ebbs and flows of living,
to show what life can be in so many states,
and still return to quiet, transparent beauty;
then as light infuses the seas,
shards so deep and colors like a rainbow
of blues and aqua marine,
purples and hues unseen by human eyes,
it gives a heart the sense
that we are all tossed and stilled by life,
but cannot relent the call.
For we are part of it all.
