This Moment Within

This Moment of Learning…

This Moment Within
This Moment Within…my dark rooms

Light filters through my mind,
finding corners I’ve not yet addressed,
darkened rooms of my regret;
and still the light pervades,
my every recess, my Everglades,
and pools of want and stagnant loss,
that rim my dark periphery,
does not define this conscious mind,
but weighs me down when sun relents the day.

Then at play on desolate plains,
the wind does roar
and clouds do skate to freedoms call,
as truth like echoes from valleys deep,
hounds my mind and tries to reap acceptance,
and ghosts of old, moan and crawl
to find my senses and try to have their way,
until the dawn my tethered soul released,
to let that light bathe me and appease my furrowed brow.

So vast this inner void,
filled with remnant ploys and dismembered ways,
collective of my dull and brightest days,
that linger in the past to remind me,
I am most humbly inept,
wanting and bereft of all I need, then
to languish in my shadow life and plead,
I need to learn and finished not is my quest,
life a drawn out struggle of my bequest, this moment.

Such definitive phrasing on the vast reaches of the mind. I enjoyed reading this Tony. It is remarkable how you so vividly describe the “everglades” within that mind of yours. I love it!

Glad you appreciate it Phyllis. And thanks for your support, If not for you I would virtually be unread on this site. Not sure why, but wondering if I should post less? Cheers!

Oh my goodness Tony. You may post to your heart’s content. It is always your choice and I have missed a few these last two days, but I so enjoy your works. You are an inspiration and a wealth of information. 🙂

Thanks Phyllis, I just wonder why hardly anyone comments; I try to comment on everyone on the site. I hope people aren’t losing interest. Do people see the amount of my postings as some sort of affront? I’m just not sure. All I want is for the site to be successful.

I do not think anyone sees the amount of your postings as an affront Tony. I believe that TCE is a place where our authors feel comfortable to spend a few moments here and there – and they are often working hard on other sites where they make money. That sounds harsh and I do not mean it that way, the fact is, most people write on the internet to make a residual income. I am not putting anyone down by that. I myself keep my HP site going for residual income – but, TCE is my top priority as far as sites go. Like you, I want this site to be successful. You and I are constants here – you, because writing is your life, the thing you must do on a routine basis; and me because I made a commitment to this site. I so admire and appreciate the time and works of beauty and knowledge you give us. You and I are exceptions – not everyone can commit to a daily schedule to TCE. You are much appreciated and loved.

Thanks you for your kindness, and you’re probably right. people often follow the money trail; not my motivation at all. Thanks Phyllis

A real sweetheart and when I met her her poetry was very fundamental. Her work improved so quickly and she is now a wonderful poet and asset to the site. Excellent.
