The Blessed Dawn

Born to a prestigious dawn,
of golden chariots on distant clouds,
and birds in flock announcing life awake,
as beginnings echo in eternal light,
cycles clean of past and for life’s own sake,
glimmer on horizons true.

And I in squirming newness cry,
for all that will be for me, the truths and lies,
and eyes filled with hope and love’s address,
shall bring this heart to love’s caress
in the warm embrace of mother,
a soft voice recognized.

As stars look down to guide a mind,
seeking reason, seeking kind,
in favored circumstance to discover
a purpose worthy of life’s mystique,
life’s complete agenda,
for this soul in transition.

And eyes absorb the light, my
being to know beauty, of what birth has sewn,
and each moment of nurture I begin to own,
and thrive for this miracle plight,
this question unanswered
yet filled with such bright possibility.

This sentient mind becomes awake,
and in growth to recognize love,
and the hands that keep a soul above the mire,
to know the darkness is a choice,
that light can save and in God’s grace
will deliver a soul to peace.

All this within a mind so new,
a life un-lived but in passion pursued,
to thrive within a compassionate heart
from the very start,
a purpose given from heaven’s gate,
just before descending to this dawn, this light to sate.
