The Struggles of a New Job
The Struggles of a New Job
So out with the old and in with the new they say,
the nerves that come along with something new,
another class, another lab all through
the eyes of change, an altered form of play.
With new responsibilities to learn
and new terrain that struggles to survive,
to learn a trade to keep ourselves alive,
to not look back after we’ve made the turn.
These new procedure I learn everyday
without the fire from family fireplace
the warmth and glow of family now has gone,
new tasks have taken place of words to say,
to find routines so I can hold my grace,
to stand alone in forests as a faun.

Nicely emotive and thought-provoking Jamie, as change is often a difficult feat. Life is in flux, always moving, changing, people are born, people die and we watch knowing the inevitable end. As they say ‘treat each day like its your last’ and enjoy everything you can in life. great work.
Very emotional piece, Jamie, yet I sense the strength in you to go forth and be all you can be. Well done.
I know where this emotional poem is coming from Jamie. It is heartfelt, and starting anything new is difficult and goes through a transition period. Wishing you all the best.
