A Sad and Pointless End

A Sad and Pointless End
A Sad and Pointless End…time to change

Pointless, without change…

The storm brought forth
another light, another plight,
wound within those brooding clouds,
that sealed the earth in dim resolve,
as if all sins collected.

And wrath was all that people saw,
a penance to be paid,
from all that nature in deprivation
could try to aid, to balance
all that we have done.

This storm rose up in arrogant fury,
as if our deceitful ways thrown back,
and unleashed piece by piece
destruction and death, the tolling of the bell,
a wrath to be understood.

And many died, families lost,
lovers parted in brutal, savage ways,
just to try to balance the horrors
we beset the earth,
in our quest of gluttony.

Each day I look to the sky,
and wonder when next our turn prevails,
be it flood, fire or war to engulf our lives
overfed by a wanting earth,
deserved as an inflicted curse.

I pray humanity realizes,
how delicate this world our home,
and how sins and disrespect
will take us to the end of life, so fragile so prone,
and if we do not relent,
a sad and pointless end.

I pray it all comes to the point where humanity can awaken to what has been done and what can be done for the good of all. Great work, Tony.

Very true Tony….but we opt to look out of our window and convince ourselves that everything is fine in this world…we, by our own selfish ways, keep on incurring the nature’s wrath, not realizing that we are digging our own grave..thank you so much for sharing this poignant wok..
